Only One You

What a lovely book! This gives inspiration to any person, young and old. Reminds you to stay who you are but not to veer off onto the wrong path. It reminds me of Dr. Seuss. I bought it for my two little nephews. The message really moved me. I cannot stress enough how encouraging this is for anyone.

Owl Succulent and Cactus Pots

These little owls are adorable and just the right size for the small succulents as well as the babies that are beginning to start out. When mine first came in I thought they were too small and it was hard to water them. Then a wise lady who knows her succulents and cactus gave me a wonderful tip on watering them. It just happened to fit my little owls perfect.

Her advice was to get one of those clear plastic pans that you put under your pots to catch the water. Put your pots, any size that will fit, in the pans and pour the water, not too much, in the pan. The succulents will absorb the amount of water they need. After an hour take the pots out and throw away the extra water. They have drank all they wanted and needed.

They would be a wonderful gift for a little girl who loves succulents.

The pots are 2.2 L x 2.2 W x 2.4 H inches and have a hole in the bottom.

Fire 7 Kids Edition Tablet

Comes in Blue, Pink and Yellow

This is a great toy and real tablet all in one. It is basically a real Fire 7 tablet, with a kid’s built-in entertainment center. There are 2 modes on the tablet: Parent (admin) and Kids. You can have one or multiple accounts. When in Parent mode, which is password protected, the Fire 7 looks and feels just like an Android tablet with all of the Fire 7 functionality. It can have Facebook, Netflix, Books and all the rest, so all of us Android users feel right at home. In the Parent mode you can also manage kids accounts: how much they can use the tablet per day, what they can and cannot watch/play, manage their installed apps, etc. When in kid’s mode, the tablet behaves just like it is on the pictures, easy-to-use, colorful interface. You need to click switch user to switch from Parent to Kids accounts.

The kids apps are not pre-installed; the main interface is an app store, just like Google Play, etc. The apps here are unique to this Kids Account, and are all free with the included subscription; which includes a boat load of games, Amazon Videos, reading and audio books. You still have to download each app before using it, so make sure to stock up on apps before going on a road trip.

They say miracles don’t happen, and that’s true, to an extent. However, in Bicho Raro, that’s something you’ll never hear anyone say.

From the dawn of time, the Soria family trades in miracles. For generations, the members of this extraordinary family, the Saints as the pilgrims call them, have helped people in need of redemption on the condition that they’ll never interfere with their healing process or else, they’ll suffer from consequences, too.

What happens when one breakes this unwritten rule? All The Crooked Saints will help you find out.

Artemis Fowl

Artemis Fowl

Artemis Fowl is a great book. It’s the first in this children’s series, and such a great story!  If you read it you will love it and buy the rest of the books. This is a series that you will read all of them, back to back!

It’s perfect for those who enjoy fantasy. Artemis is an incredibly smart boy whose father was killed when Artemis was much younger. Artemis’ mother is emotionally devastated and spends most of her time by herself, leaving Artemis to his own devices. And while this is sad for Artemis, it’s not overdone or depressing. It also makes him a fantastic character that kids become completely invested in.

If you have a child, or know of one, who is always thinking, always wanting to experiment… a kid with a vivid imagination who’s just too clever for their own good, this is a fantastic book for them. Heck, it’s good for anyone who loves a reading adventure!
